Upgrade 2013 300h radio to 14/15/16?
From what I remember from my research about a year ago its possible to update the 2013 radio with a newer model radio and there were some significant benefits in doing so. What's the highest year radio that I can put in my 2013? I have nav without ML. I was looking on car-parts.com for a 14 radio and there were a bunch of different variants, not sure which variant works with my car.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

What are the specific benefits that you expect to see by moving from a 2013 radio to a newer one? I had a 2013 ES, and I now have a 2017 ES. Frankly, I don't see much difference between the radios in those two vehicles, and there certainly aren't any differences that I see that would justify any significant expense to switch out the radio to a newer one.

There are usability improvements as well as cosmetic ones... One thing I'm aware of is when you start the car and shift into reverse, the older nav system cuts off the camera with useless notices about your bluetooth connection, and your phone pairing, transferring, etc Meanwhile, the top part of the camera view and what you ACTUALLY care about is blocked by this text.
This may sound trivial, but the timing of this happening is inconsistent based on when your phone decides to finally connect and is a nuisance you have to deal with every time you need to start and have to back out.

I don't want to replace my 2013 radio but I checked to see how much it would be and found around $1300.00... Maybe less somewhere else but not worth it for me...

Sourcing the head unit is the easy part. Getting it connected is another story. There's a decent chance the connectors behind the head unit are different with the different system generations as functions and controls change.

So I did some digging around on car-parts.com and the internet for pictures of the rear of the 13/14/15/16 radios. It looks like the 13/14 radios have exactly the same connectors (no surprise here). I was only able to dig up a picture of the rear of a 16 radio and the number of connectors doubled although I'm not sure what variant of radio it is, might have premium audio. My guess is that the 15 and 16 radios are cross compatible so a 15 radio backside would look the same. My radio ID for my 13 is 100078 and according to Lexus the equivalent optioned 14 car's radio ID is 100362 (nav w/o premium audio). If anybody is able to get equivalent 15 or 16 pictures (nav w/o premium audio) or pictures of any of the radios with ML I would appreciate it.
Pictures attached for reference.
