Which tires ride the smoothest and quietest?
Need a smooth, quiet ride for hauling my senior citizen mom around. Was looking at Yokohama's, since they are MUCH less expensive than Michelins, but from comment below, they ride a little rough. Any other opinions on best tires for 2009 RX350 to keep the mom comfy?

I think the OEM Michelins are the quietest, but I traded a tiny bit of noise for much longer treadwear and got the Continental PureContacts. On our second set and very pleased.

The 'versa' of comfort is 'road feel'. The RX has minimal road feel and, compared to the OEM MIchelins, road feel is diminished. That is the only negative I have found. Otherwise, for adhesion in wet or dry conditions, the Bridgestone beat the OEM Michelin. Their durability is also higher.
In general terms, no one has tried out ALL the relevant brands or tire models for any extent of mileage for one car. As you know, new tires are always smoother and quieter, and negative characteristics seem to show up after 10-15K miles. So, it is unlikely that any one opinion is any better than that provided through the reviews at Tirerack.com, many of which are from owners with real mileage on the tires.
Note also that I live in snny FL. Our worst threat is deluge-type rains (in which the Bridgestone performed very well), but we are not subject ot snow or cold temperatures. So I cannot comment on conditions that I have not experienced with this tire.
You can also check out other posts - there are many concerning tires in this forum.
Good luck.

I switch to the Michelin LT DEFENDER, Great riding tire, quiet, and long lasting...Have 16k miles on them and love them...For what it is worth I also have them on my Ford F150 truck and smooth as silk.

^^^Second that. I've Michelin Defender LTX MS on mine, and while its early to tell, they are quiet and feel great. Traction in all road conditions is excellent.

Hey. I've used a few different brands in tires. I find that Pirelli tires give me the best performance. I prefer all season on my GS430 and RX330. I hope you find the right tires for you. GodBless!

I have Michelin Primacy. The are very quiet
A proper alignment must be done to maintain uneven wear.
Had my rear alignment off and the tire wore bad in just after 2 months. Loud noise.
Fixed alignment 2 tires later.. perfect

I wasn't impressed with the OEM Michelin Energy's. However, I am a Michelin fan and run nothing else on any of my vehicles, currently have a set of Latitude Tours on the RX and they are quiet and handle well.

These are the best if you ask me. Best ride quality I've ever experienced. Hands down. And I've had mostly all of them. Very smooth quiet rubber. That's the model I have on my GS430 18s.
