Default Question about my sloppy/loose shifter on my manual trans

I recently bought an IS250 with the manual 6-speed. The shifter though feels like a 1990's era Honda with over 200K on the clock. Has anyone ever had to replace the shifter bushings on their car? I found a part number from Toyota for the bushings 90638-09025, but these are just replacement plastic bushings. I want to use bronze-oil bushings so the shifter stays stiff and I'll never have to replace them again for the life of the car. I've attached a picture on the types of bushings I'm looking for, OEM on the left and aftermarket on the right

TRUST ME, this is not a design flaw, I've driven one other manual 250 and the shifter was great, followed the H pattern into all the gears. I know for a fact the bushings on mine are worn down.

I got this heavy duty seat for my W58 and this tremendously helped solidify shifter feel: https://www.marlincrawler.com/transm...avy-duty-seats

I believe the IS250 manual trans is the RA series. I also got the heavy duty socket, but does not fit the RA

The shifter setup on the IS is completely different from other RA setups (except the Mark X, which is the same).

The thing about it is that the bushings are very thin plastic, I've not seen any metal versions of these.

I would think you can get a machine shop make the bushings for you and they shudnt be too expensive

Hey did you ever figure anything about the shifter bushings? I have a 07 IS250 and would like to change the bushings.
