Default Should I add Royal Purple Max Clean Fuel sometime?

Hey guys! Have anybody used Royal Purple Max Clean Fuel or Seafoam in our 4GS? Any pros and cons?

Thanks for your input!

I just added some on my current tank, I have no idea if it actually did anything yet. Certainly can't hurt.

use shell or chevron as your premium gas of choice when you can
i know here comes the costco gas people chiming in ehhhhhhhhhh
every 2 nd oil change or 30k put a 5 dollar bottle of chevron techron fuel system cleaner in with a empty tank

your good to go for life of car

Thanks guys! I always use Shell premium gas. I probably add a bottle of Royal purple next time I do the oil change.

No. It's 2017. ESPECIALLY with Lexus/Toyota...their engines have always been the most reliable. Don't mess them up.

No fuel or engine oil additive is required, recommended, suggested or needed.

Exactly all top tier gas has additives and cleaners already in them.

The biggest danger to your gas tank and fuel lines if there are any ferrous metals in them, is rust from moisture. About every fuel available today has up to 10% alcohol unless you are buying the boat/lawn equipment gas specially without alcohol. That alcohol content absorbs any moisture in the fuel system and allows you to burn it.

Keeping your tank fuller and with less of an air cavity will reduce the chances of pulling moisture.

After saying that, I do not feel most additives, such as Techron, will harm a properly functioning engine and will potentially clean up the injectors of an older, neglected engine.

I find one of the most beneficial things for most cars is the infamous "Italian tuneup" or blowing the soot out of it every once in a while. When my wife complains about her car doing anything, this is my first remedy, to take it down the road, warm it up and then test the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. The black and/or rusty smoke behind me generally tells me it was needed.

Does anyone have any bad experiences using the 20oz Chevron Techron in their gas tank?
(It costs about $12 in 2021)

Will it harm your car? I'd bet 99.999% not. It is the additive already in Chevron gasoline but in a concentrated form you can administer yourself.

Will it fix anything? I'd say it is a 50/50 shot but it is not a miracle in a bottle.

I usually run a bottle of Tehcron through freshly purchased used cars after about 1,000 miles to get anything out of the tank and see if there is any improvement. I also don't notice any real world changes but it should have pulled any moisture out of the system at a minimum.

I do believe in Seafoam if you have a verifiable induction problem with a vehicle.

i LOL'd! good one.

to be on topic, i did run techron and really didn't see anything gained. $12 is pricey for a bottle that was $5 a few months ago at my local autozone (but on sale).

Try your local Walmart in the automotive area. It still may cost more than in the recent past but, always less than Autozone or other parts stores.
