97-SC300 Single Turbo Build Thread
Sup guys,
I am making a build thread for my brother Dmitry with his 97-SC300. He's gonna post on the technical parts of the build whereas I am gonna upload photos off my DSLR of the progress along the way.
This has been planned for a long time. A short while after the GTE and V160 swap we started collecting parts for the single turbo build. We finally started working on it again a few weeks ago.
We're just gonna use this thread to post any updates with the car which will include alot of other things besides the single turbo conversion.

Got all my wheels refinished by the best Powdercoating place I know. The quality of the work is top notch.
Brand new rear barrels from CCW
Re-polished and clear powdercoated lips
Silver metallic with gloss clear on rear barrels
Anodizing removed off centers and powdercoated in pearl black with gloss clear. Official name is "Harley Davidson (HD) Black Pearl".
Center caps repolished and clear powdercoated
All hardware bolts re-polished.

Brand new tires mounted.
I got a custom set of CCW logo decals made for the center caps out of 3M vinyl as well as the CCW lip stickers that you can get from their website that I plan on applying to these. Then coating them with either Opti Coat Pro, CQ Finest, or 22PLE later in the year when we get close to finishing things.

I gotta say BIG thanks to Tim Olson at The Powder Pro in Woodstock IL for doing these and my other wheels as well as other parts for the car. The man is a coating artist.
When the light hits the finish, the pearl metallic just pops like crazy. I've never seen this much attention to detail. Hell, even $150k cars' wheels are sometimes "half assed" at the factory where you can see the machine painting process miss some hard to reach spots on the back side of the wheel.

Mounted on the car.
I also ordered a new Big Win 97+ SC300/400 front lip directly from the manufacturer in Japan this last winter. You can see a glimpse of it. Removed the "TT" lip for now, you can still see a light line of plastidip overspray on the bumper from when I touched it up in the summer before a meet at 1AM lol. Good times.
Thinking of getting another spare Big Win lip. Always been my favorite lip, worried it might get discontinued. You never know with stuff like that.
