Shark Fin Antenna Issue.
OK...so here goes...wife was backing out of garage and for what ever reason...she decided to hit the garage door button down and bang....the bottom of the garage door hit the Shark fin antenna and the cover flew off. The antenna itself was still ok...but clearly she dented the roof as the cover snaps back on but no longer sits flush on the roof. So my question is...is the thin rubber gasket on the bottom of the cover the only thing that stops water intrusion or is the antenna itself sealed? I called a dent guy to come out...but that won't be for a few days and I am afraid of water getting in and destroying my headliner. To try to avoid water issues, as a temp fix , I used a layer of Ultra Black RTV around the whole base to seal the unit. I am most likely going to bring it into Lexus to let them fix if the dent guy is not confident. I also noticed that the rubber gasket on the bottom the cover split so that may mean I will have to bring to Lexus. My car is a 2026 RX 350. Any input is appreciated and I am not blaming her...it could happen to anyone.

That stinks, sorry that happened. A similar thing happened to my wife's old Acura when the service tech was pulling it into the service garage. He had to stop to wait for the lane to clear and the overhead door came down on the root of the RDX.
I don't know for sure, but it seems unlikely the rubber gasket around the bottom of the cover is the only water intrusion deterrent.
