So we pulled the trigger today. Had about 4/32s left on the factory run flats, but am highway driving about 6 hours tomorrow so I decided now would be a good time to do the replacement. Installed a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2s. All I can say is what a difference. I am hypersensitive to noise (wife might disagree sometimes). The difference in noise level is incredible. Different asphalt surfaces used to be amplified. Even driving over expansion joints or heaves in the road surface are barely noticeable. So much quieter in the car while driving at speed. Am quite impressed. No idea of impact on mileage yet, haven't driven enough to notice. But am happy!
Anyone looking for a set of Michelin XIce winters on Lexus 20" rims with Lexus sensors? Lemme know!
Same as for the winter tires. Have a compressor on board for slow leaks. Have a CAA membership for blowouts, which has occurred exactly once in my 54 years of driving.

Only takes one time. What are the possibilities of a blow out/bent rim. Very possible. I'd put run flats on a bicycle. I like to know my wife can most likely make it home with a nail or punctured tire. I never had a blow out ...that has nothing to do with today and tomorrow. Anyway good luck...enjoy the ride.

Went with Michelin Primacy non run flats and wife's NX now drives like my RX. 1.2 million miles of driving and one blowout.
Ive run those same Michelins CC2s on other SUVs I've owned and enjoyed all aspects of handling. Plan to replace my factory tires with them when replacing. Solid choice!
I have the Michelin Cross Climate 2 on my 2023 Lexus NX 350. They are very quiet and I know they handle well in winter conditions. Now I don't have a spare tire, so I plan to get a small portable air compressor and a tire repair kit and hope I don't need them.
We bought CC’s two years ago. Great in rain, snow and ice as well as wearing nicely. Much quieter and in my wife’s words, our NX now feels like a Lexus. I have a Modern Spare (not is the case) and secured by tie downs. Also a breaker bar and socket as the nuts are tough to remove. Enjoy your trip.

I exchanged the factory run flats for Michelin CC at time of purchase and have never looked back. I have a couple of cans of FIL and trust that my experience of 68 years driving with two flat tires is significant evidence.
On the other hand...Doug, will the Modern Spare fit below the rear floor?
I'm sure you're right; I went with the CC since we live in the Pac NW. Just enough snow and ice in winters, particularly if one drives out of the lowlands/valleys.
The difference between the factory run flats and Michelin CC is remarkable, especially in even slight snow.
Told the dealer I wouldn't buy my 2024 NX350h unless they swapped the almost new Cross Climate 2s off my previous Lexus for the run flats.
They made the swap, but I have often wondered what I would do if I had a blowout.
The Modern Spare takes up too much room. Rolling the dice, I guess.
I did on one occasion have a very slow leak that gave me plenty of time to get to a tire store...guess I should invest in an aerosol temporary leak repair.
FYI The subject of Michelin Cross Climate 2 has been discussed just on this 2nd Gen NX forum in 9 different threads. Lots of commentary on purchasing spare tires (which don't fit in the hybrid under floor storage as the 12 v battery is there), fix a flat repair kits etc.

Unfortunately, it won’t fit below the rear deck in a hybrid. Without the case the spare doesn’t get in the way and it often seems as a way to secure loose items during transport.

Buy right the 1st time . I like ViAir compressors and the Safety Seal patch kit. The Safety Seal kits have professional grade plugging tools.
