RR Racing tune can't flash back to original
I keep getting the error code "(0x3000) wake up error"
I've tried about 30 times with different methods today and no luck.
The cars ignition is on, (double click push to start, all lights on the cluster are on) I tried waiting 10 seconds between each step, I hooked it up to a charger I tried having the ignition on first before connecting the tool and then on only after but it always behaves the same.
I was also able to confirm that the car has the RR tune that is on the device because when I try flashing the RR tune "Steve tuned intake 7200 spd" I get the message "the vehicle is already programmed with the selected mod file".
Also if I act as if I'm going to reset the MyGenius tool it will say "Warning. Device locked. To perform the reset it's mandatory to first write the original file to the vehicle"
One weird thing is the cars limited is 6800 but I'm assuming the tune is for 7200 since it says it in the name.
The ISF is definitely currently tuned because it has headers, a catback and intake with no CEL.
I contacted RR for help and they've been trying to help me solve it but we can't seem to find a solution or reason why it's behaving this way.
If anyone would be able to help me with this or help point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
1) Was this "your" tune, or did you inherit this tune and MyGenius tool with the car when you bought it?
2) Is there a problem with the tune? Is there a reason for reverting back to the factory tune?
3) Do you have the Tuned Intake/larger MAF body installed? I don't believe the factory tune will behave with the RR Intake.
4) Did you save a copy of your factory tune to your laptop?
Also, the 7200 rev limit increase is standard for an RR Tune, they increase it so you don't accidentally bounce off the rev limiter.
It sounds like the MyGenius tool *could* be the problem, hence RR Racing's difficulty diagnosing the problem - it's a 3rd-party piece of hardware they don't produce themselves. In my old career of troubleshooting, we'd eliminate as MANY variables as we could. In your shoes, I'd see if there's anyone local in Cali that would consider loaning you their MyGenius hardware to load your tunes onto.
