Question High pitched whine when pressing brake (video)

Hi all, My 2023 Lexus GX makes a high-pitched “whine” noise, similar to a deer alarm, every time I press the brakes. The sound seems to come from under the driver’s side area. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any idea what might be causing it? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

... brake pads have a metal wear indicator that directly contacts the brake disk when the pads need to be replaced ... emits a shrill high frequency noise.

Thanks, but this sound is electronic, pads are new. If you listen to the video at the end when I am pressing the brake with my hand I can get the sound even when the car is in accessory mode and stationary.

Question

The noise completely stops when I unplug the connector that controls the rear brake lights.

I took the vehicle to the Lexus dealership, but they told me the sound is “normal.” However, the noise is quite loud and clearly audible while driving, so it doesn’t seem normal to me.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any insight into what might be causing it? Is there anything I can check or fix at the connector itself, such as a loose connection or corrosion?

I believe that is the problem as the noise heard over the videos is white noise, an electronic device complainiing most of the time solenoids, that in the photo is the stop light switch, in fact as far as I remember when it fails it triggers a trouble code inn the OBD at least happened to me in my GS, have you scanned? but simply replace it its easy and cheap part number is 8434039015

I have this same thing. Local dealership said it wasn't abnormal, but is still ongoing and annoying. Does it also occur when you use your turn signals or the emergency flashers?

@guzzy92fs it looks like 8434039015 ($50) doesn't apply to the '22-'23 model years, but 8434019075 does at about double the price ($100). Not sure what the difference might be (prongs, connector style, voltage, etc.).

Good catch I was looking the part for my own GX which is a '15

84340‑19075 is the way to go then, also noticed that the 16' 4runner uses that same part the 8434019075

btw here is a slight better price for them https://www.mylparts.com/oem-parts/l...tch-8434019075

That makes even more sense its the stop light switch or a ground issue
Flashers are adding an electrical pulse to the system. If your brake switch is already weak or failing, that pulse causes the Brake Light Relay under your dash to chatter, that white noise is literally the sound of an electrical relay struggling to stay closed.
I put my bet on the switch and it will fix these electrical gremlins.
