15 billion EV write off. Stock is down in the mid 20s. Sales are lackluster everywhere but in the USA.. Acura has 3 vehicles and 2 are civic based. They even have canned their gas lawn mowers lol. They likely need to merge to survive.
If Honda sticks to what it has traditionally done best (the ICE or hybrid CR-V, HR-V, Accord, Civic, and Odyssey), IMO. they will do just fine. All five of those vehicles sell very well in the U.S. and in some countries overseas. It is this EV-nonsense that has gotten then company in trouble.
Unlike Toyota, though, which IMO cost-cuts too much with bargain-basement interiors and trim, Honda seems to put some effort into providing a little more pleasant environment for driver and passengers. I give Toyota a lot of credit for reliable drivetrains (and the 4Runner and Land Cruiser for overall reliability) but, other than that, I just don't think they are very impressive.
Toyota is miles ahead. They aren’t close in reliability scores especially since Acura is below average for years now.
ICE Hondas are still selling, though particularly in the U.S., in spite of the fact that they aren't built as rock-solid as in the 1990s. I see CR-Vs and HR-Vs everywhere I look.

Eh, they are the same for the most part quality wise IMO. Nothing special and fundamentally mass market interior layouts/materials
Didnt know Honda was in so much trouble. Still see them everywhere, so their sales are strong. If they stop wasting money on the electric nonsense they are going to be ok.
since hyundai/kia combo began outselling honda i knew they were in trouble. when was the last time honda made something people thought was truly great?
