Default Oil Change @ Dealer

I have a 2016 GS-350 F-Sport RWD and just pulled the receipt from the glove for my last oil change.
YZZA1 (seen a lot of discussion on here whether that is right part number)

Charges
  • Oil and Filter Change - $63
  • Oil OW20 Bulk: 6@ $4.97 = $29.82
  • Gasket: $1.03
  • Washer Solvent: $1.55

So my questions are :
1. YZZA1 is correct filter for my model
2. OW20 is full synthetic?
3. Shouldn't my car take 7 quarts as it is 6.7 or something like that?
4. Is it normal they add these bs charges like gasket/washer fluid top off?

I am due for another one, not sure if I should go back to this dealer - they advertise EXPRESS LUBE, FULL SYNTHETIC OIL, AND FILTER (NO TIRE ROTATION) $95.96 which includes 5 quarts , so $101 with the extra quart of oil

I know there a lot of DIY in the forum but thats not option for me

To answer your questions:
  • A1 is the correct filter for RWD
  • OW20 will be full synthetic
  • Your car should take between 6.5 to 6.8 quarts. They have oil in bulk and maybe didn't indicate the exact amount in the previous service details.
  • Dealers tend to charge extra for random services; they like to tack-on little charges here and there. You can always tell them you only want the oil change service and nothing additional.
Look for coupons or other dealerships with service specials and see if your preferred dealership can match.

Just to clarify, the RWD FKS takes 6 qts. The AWD takes 6.8 qts. Page 522 of the manual mentions quantities (at least for 2018 manual).

I remember my first oil change I put in something like 6.2 and wondering why I was over.

Yea was wondering where they were. Around here it's 89.95, and some even mention it includes 6 qts. I am surprised they're charging you for washer fluid top off, but then again I've never changed my oil at the Lexus dealership.

I was trying to find random dealers to see pricing and some go as low 69.95 in California. Other places just do 30 off the price. But most seemed to hover around the 89.95 price in their specials section.

I was gonna tell them, The FKS doesn't take the same amount as the FSE per the owner's manual. People have to read their manual. They come with the car for a reason.

I use to go Nalley. Now JM in Margate , Fl. Liked Nalley better. JM Lexus is largest dealer in the country and even their waiting area sucks now. Fl is ridiculously priced for everything now
I am guess Lexus will not match dealers outside their region

I've never known any dealer to charge for windshield washer fluid top-off.

Yeah, its a petty charge but next time I will know to challenge it . I am sure if I questioned it , they would remove it.

Are those prices for full synthetic? I just checked a few Cali dealers out of curiosity, Cerritos for example is $109.95 but includes 6 quarts instead of 5

Find yourself a Toyota Dealer that has a good Service dept Rating. Go and meet the Service Manager. Ask them to always give your GS to a Master Tech Only. No quick oil change guys. I have used Toyota for the last 6 years. I bring them my own Walmart bought Pennzoil. The Tech's I use have Supercharger TRD, other Trucks, Supra's, and one has a RC F.

The one I saw it with was Newport, CA.
6 qts if full synthetic for 69.95. Sheesh, even their 4 wheel alignment is cheap (69.95). I thought everything was more expensive in CA

Here in Central Florida, Lexus of Orlando, Winter Park, Wesley chapel and Tampa are all 89.95 for oil change. Tampa lists up to 6 qts for the price in the details.

Yeah, not sure I can price match a dealership that far away. Tampa is 4 hours from JM Lexus

Pembroke pines does it for 89.99. They mention a 2015 RX350 for 89.99 which takes more than 6 qts. The way they list coupons is kind of funny, like a mailer ad. Same for North Miami.

Looks like Palm Beach is also expensive at 109 for 6 qts. They really are taking advantage of y'all lol.

Here the Lexus Dealer starts at $154.99 with $25 off on a oil change Special.

https://www.nalleylexussmyrna.com/specials/service.htm

The Toyota Dealer with the same Oil and Filter will do it for only $69.95.

A $60 difference.
