I'm impressed that you can't tell that there's vinyl over the light. I thought for sure you'd be able to tell during the day or on a side view.

Why would it not pass inspection? Plenty of cars have red turn signals. If it's an issue with brightness, then swap the bulb for a brighter LED one.

agreed. plenty of cars, new and old, have rear red turn signals. just the fronts need amber

Because it's modifying a mandated safety device. Just like having blue dots in brake light lenses. As I said it's best to check state laws.

Unless they are purposely looking for it or are active ClubLexus 4GS forum members, inspectors probably wouldn't even know that it's "modified." It looks OEM.

In all my years of having cars inspected I have yet to see anyone look at my tail lights I don't even remember them looking at my head lights the only thing I was ever asked is if I had a check engine light,,,

Like the others said most cars nowadays come stock with red turn signals, its a non-issue

One of my first things I did.
Tada! Of course I blacked out the lower red reflectors and wrapped the entire car.
