Barbecue grill in back of SUV explodes when woman lights up
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A Florida woman lit a cigarette, sparking an explosion of a propane barbecue grill being transported in her SUV.
Orlando police Lt. Cindy Lane tells news outlets that the grill was turned on and the propane tank was open in the back of the red Kia Sorento as she left a barbecue at the Central Florida Fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon.
Lane says the woman and her husband were burned and their sports utility vehicle was severely damaged. The couple's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Severely damaged? More than that......the vehicle is easily totalled, even if it was new or almost new. One glance, and that's obvious.
I'm glad the woman and her husband pulled through it OK, and are, at least, not facing life-threatening injuries or burns. That's a prefect example, though, of why our condo association does not allow propane grilles on the property (only charcoal-burning ones)...propane-burners are simply too risky. And, of course, although condo associations cannot legally ban cigarettes for adults, wise people will avoid smoking whether it is legal or not.

The couple, Pierre Dadaille and Meguydeline Dessource, had the grill in the back of their red Kia Sorento, Orlando Police Lt. Cindy Lane said.
Dadaille, 39, had an active warrant for his arrest on a fleeing and eluding charge, according to police.
He was arrested Sunday and was being held without bail at the Orange County Jail Monday on that charge and on a charge of resisting arrest without violence.
