Wow!!! Massively easy to change...thanks for tip about on the top. Took all of 10 minutes. This is a great mod if for nothing else than the utility aspect alone. These lights are so much brighter than the incandescent bulbs. I am more than happy with results. I think I could at least change the front diff and TC fluids with the illumination of these bulbs alone. :-)

FYI: 5K version of VLED listed above

Yeah expensive for an LED bulb but wanted something that had a higher chance of being reliable for an external application.

I probably should have gone with their "Long Life" version.

"As one of the few all-aluminum construction 194 bulbs on the market these are the highest output and safest available. For even higher reliability or continuously-on applications check out our Long Life version of this product."

Nice looks really bright.
I used Yorkim LEDs for the running boards and some 5k super bright generic in the interior and doors.

Ordered bulbs to complete rest of interior. I haven't received them yet but checking out light thread to see how things are removed.

The door assemblies are easy to remove but look to be a small PIA as you have to bend some metal clips that retain the stock bulb into assembly.

As suggested here.. DON'T open the map lights from this location. Fortunately I didn't break anything and read further in thread opposite front end sides is where you want to be. They open really easy from the forward sides. First picture is accurate... second one is a big no-no and you are apt to break something.

I just used the smallest plastic tool out of this HF trim kit.

The metal retainer is there to hold the bulb in place, probably due to all the vibration when the door closes and opens. It's pretty easy to push it back. The issue I had with the door light is the housing of the LED light is a bit longer than the stock bulb so you have to push it harder to make it stay in the housing. Otherwise it may pop out. But once it fit in tight it wasn't moving anywhere.

Swapped mine out yesterday..... the door lamps are pretty easy once you see how they are put together I just went with these VLEDs

http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbe.../194-1-ll.html

Doors could possibly be improved some with a 360 degree bulb but with the running board lamps being so bright not sure I am gonna bother. Really pleased with light output inside. I need to take a pic in dark. These easily fit in everything.
