I think on the 6-spd the transmission only shifts once to get to 60 and now with the 8-spd it needs to shift twice to get to 60 and that's why it's slower. At least that was the case with the 2IS vs 3IS, that's why the older IS350 can run in the 4 sec.

I don't know folks with the 2013 GS 6-spd, do u run faster than our 14+?

It would be intresting, most 6 speeds are awd, but weigh more. They may be able to get off the line faster, I need to run mine at the track by me one of these days.

If you go look at magazine tests, the 2013 RWD with the 6 speed would often test in the 5.4 to 5.5 second range to 60. If you look at the 2014+ tests with the 8 speed RWD model, you're looking at 5.8 seconds.

AWD models seem to be holding at about 5.6 seconds.

In the IS350 test reviews, the 6 speed AWD models tend to outperform the 8 speed RWD models, at 5.3 seconds AWD to 5.6 seconds RWD.

2nd gear for both the 6-speed and the 8-speed transmission. The 8-speed upshifts to 3rd gear just above the 60 mph mark.

That means the GS is too heavy? Maybe I need to remove my steering wheel again.. or my shifter in this case and see if this car can shift faster.

So I just sold my 2008 IS 350 (6 speed) for a 2015 FSport (8 speed), and yes the IS350 was a little rocket (especially with the right tires), but I enjoy driving this GS FSport quite a bit more. The driving experience, as a whole, is just much more refined, enjoyable, yet still invigorating.

Default Navtool

Has anyone dealt with NAVTOOL? I know this question is off the point but I'm curious.
They claim to have OEM cell phone mirroring equipment with front, rear and side camera input capability.
