Just a small update... after wet sand and buff I started putting the trim on the passenger side door
Wasn't sure about chrome trim. Thought about painting it black... the chrome is going to look excellent I think!
I would not use Laminx. It's super dull and grainy. Order the Suntek PPF headlight kit. Extremely clear, self-healing, and you'll never even know it's there if installed correctly. Best way to protect the full front end and headlights bar none. We have used all the major brands of PPF at my work, but no longer actively offer XPEL or 3M because Suntek is so much better.
EDIT: I just realized, it looks like Suntek doesn't sell pre-cut kits like XPEL does. We have their software at work that we sometimes use to plot some intricate pieces (even though we do 99% of the PPF custom cut by hand on the vehicle).
If you want, I can plot a few kits for the SC in the next few days and mail you a kit for free to throw on there (just use water and Johnson baby shampoo solution to install (about 15 drops of the soap into a 32oz. bottle of water) and a typical rubber squeege). I never put any film on Dmitry's headlights either so I might as well do them in the spring too.

I'm not too worried. I bought these as a temporary wheel while i save up some more cash for classics. It might be a while but it WILL happen. I didn't do a paint job and body work of this magnitude to not have the best on this car. But it needs to be done in stages. And I have seen the Platinum xxr's in person and they look kind of wavy and don't have that good mirror finish I would like to see. Again, this was a cheap alternative for it to look "good" until I can hide enough money away from my wife to buy the classics... shhhhhh lol

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad wheel choice at all. For the money XXR's are quite good. I ran a set of Hyper Silver 521's on my old SC400 for 5 years with no issue. And trust me, I know you cant just throw a ton of money on a car all at once. My SC300 took forever to get to where it is now.

Bad news: It looks like neither Suntek or Xpel software has a pre-cut headlight kit for the SC. Most vehicles have it so I was surprised to see nothing for these cars.
Good news: I can cut off some film off a bulk roll at work and ship you the material to apply on there and just custom cut it with a blade or utility knife (same thing you'd have to do with LaminX). The shape of the SC lights is pretty easy, all you'd need is to give the film a good stretch where necessary, squeege it down all the way and trim off any excess material.
If you don't already have a utility knife, Lowes has some Olfa knives and replacement blades similar to what we use at the shop. I am sure other department stores will have similar products as well.
small update... fit the rear wheel. 18x9.5 +35 with a 285/35/18 wheel. Looks good and fits nice.
I didn't know a 285 could fit on a 9.5". I had 285's on my 10.5" wheels and it looked like that was the smallest rim that would fit.

Kind of off topic, but do you have a recommendation for what brand of transparent vinyl to use? I'm looking for transparent red and smoke to modify the tail lights.
