Washed it. I last washed it Dec 27th. It snowed, lots of salt, too cold to wash, then it has rained non-stop since 1/7. I couldn't stand it anymore. It's all clean now, but is supposed to rain all day tomorrow. At least now, it will be easier to clean up.

Well, I washed my car on Sunday and applied the brake dust repellent. Usually I need to wipe down the rims Wednesday night, as I can't stand dull rims due to brake dust build up if the whole car is still clean. I checked them out this morning (Thurs), and............

I'm impressed!!! I think Armor All just gained another satisfied customer. Curious how many applications I can get out of the can (which cost $10). A little advice - don't cake the spray on, you just need a light layer all over the rim.

New shoes - Pirelli P7 Cinturato. I couldn't stand the ride/noise of the Bridgestone RE050 any longer!

Are you running 19" wheels? How do you like the Pirelli's?

I had the RE050 and asked Discount Tire for advice. I have always had good luck with the Michelin AS3+ tires and that's what they recommended (Tire Rack said to go with the P7). DT went on to say that I could swap them (within 30-days) if I didn't like them. The Michelins were very quiet and definitely smoother than the RE050 but I had hoped for more. So two days ago I had them swap the AS3+ for the P7 tires.

It's very close. I'd swear the AS3+ tires are better (smoother and a bit quieter), but we've had a cold front move in and the outside temperature is quite a bit colder since I got the P7 tires. So I don't know if I can make a fair comparison right now. I can easily state the P7 tires are much quieter and smoother than the RE050 units I had before.

Anyway, yes they are 19" wheels and I went with 245/40. BTW the P7 tires have a 70,000 mile tread-wear guarantee!

DallasDave, please tell us more. I have the RE050 right now also, and although not horrible, not that great either. I was thinking about going AS3+ also next (which may still be 5k miles away). I had the AS3's on my IS350 and I could tell a huge different in comfort, precision and grip compared to the prior tire. I like shooting off the line fast and taking turns pretty aggressively, and the AS3's on my IS did not disappoint. Is that the case with the AS3+ on the GS also?

What is your driving style? Did you go with the P7's due to wanting a more comfortable ride? They are considered Touring vs Performance of the AS3's, so driving style has a lot to do with the type of tire you would enjoy.
