Looking for some input on a new steering wheel design for my car. Background is I love anything carbon fiber and I'm in the process of redoing all my silver weave to black weave on my interior. I picked up a used steering wheel with controls and paddle shifter to work on as a project. The leather was trash on it so the outer ring needs to be reskinned. My original idea was to wrap the outer ring with on piece of black carbon, as wheel as the paddle shifters in black, leaving the wheel controls silver to match the glove box and door trim. I'm open to suggestions and have any ideas, I'm not opposed to a silver and black combo, but would the silver be out of place as a stand alone location for it? Thanks in advance

 

I put on an authentic licensed MOMO steering wheel cover and added CF accents on the steering wheel. Some may think a wheel cover is cheezy but the MOMO looks good--much better than the cheezy ones in Pep Boys! I got it off ebay and there are many different MOMO colors/designs. Theres also a nice leather custom fit cover on Amazon that goes on with stitching.

 

Sorry I don't think I was perfectly clear in my original post, I have removed the outer leather altogether so there in only the underlying pad. Not against a cover but I believe those are fitted to the original wheel which mine in now skinnier than. The comparisons I was thinking of was the L-tuned style and DCTMS.
