Minutes after I purchased it three months ago:
Home from the 5hr round trip drive:
After I worked out some of the major dents:
This is what it looks like currently:
I've got my work cut out for me.

wow what a great thread! im an LS guy and never been super into the SC.. seeing some of these cars is starting to change my opinion... the transformations of some of these are absolutely amazing! some of these cars really were tired beat up old turds and turned into flashy fast street beasts.
on another note.. don't want to start a thread about this but something very sad happened to one of these earlier this week. as some of you guys know I work at a dealership. we had a 92 SC400 show up that was absolutely spotless. and I mean like BRAND NEW. still had the "genuine leather" tags on the seats which were soft and supple. 46k original miles, drove like new. paint super glossy no hazing or scuffing at all. original headlight covers were still like new. a true untouched time capsule. fully loaded with every single possible option. original owner too..
however....
it came in because the night before, for no explainable reason, the air bag deployed while parked in the garage so they brought it in to get an air bag. even though this car was still absolutely perfect, drove perfect, looked perfect, because it was so old.... are you ready for this?
INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED IT!!!!!!!!!!!
cars like this no matter how nice they are, insurance companies would rather just write them off and sign a check than to have to replace parts in a 25 year old car. and as some of you know, here, in the state of Florida, when a car is totaled... its a death sentence.
ive never seen an original first year first gen sc400 that was THAT nice. it seriously looked like it just came off the showroom floor. me and my buddies were standing around it just shaking our heads. very very sad.
