Decided to fix a/c today. We had figured out when we bypass the relay the compressor kicks on. We changed the relay and swapped a/c clusters and couldn't figure it out and with temps ready to start climbing in the south my son wired in a switch to the center console.
Got few more things done over the last couple of weeks. Picture didnt save for some reason but we had a terrible rattle from the trunk, area when the subs would hit and finally figured out it was the spare tire wheel well so we cut a about a dozen sound deadening strips about 1in by 12 in and went across the bottom and then the outer wall and it worked like a charm no rattling. Then the front speakers we used the same door forms that I had modified for my SC400 and had no problem but for some reason whit the SC300 they cleared fine but when the bass would hit they would flub against the back of the door panel so we had to fix that and then lastly my son wanted to utilize the rear view camera feature of his stereo so I bought a cheap one off of amazon for about $25 and was shocked at how well it looks especially at night.
Rear view camera not exactly stealthy but works well. and was easy to hook up.
This was actually a shot with it almost dark outside.
This isnt the best picture but Instead of doing a ton of work to try and reconfigure the grill or the back of the door panel I decided to try a simple cheap quick solution first and it worked great. I cut a piece of mdf about 1in by 1in and about 1/2 thick and we pulled the switches out and took some glue and stuck them to the side of the speaker case and it pushed the panel out just enough for the speakers to operate normally and didnt impact the look or functionality of the door one bit.
