Age is definitely a factor - the IS is marketed toward a younger buyer. The IS is a very balanced car and I owned a 2nd Gen and drove the 3rd Gen IS for a few days as a loaner.
The 3rd Gen IS improved on fit and finish and overall quality from the 2nd Gen IS but still lags behind the GS in those areas.
The newer 4th Gen GS is aging but the changes for '16 has kept it fresh enough. The GS is remarkably reliable and fit/finish/comfort marks are very high IMO.
Go for the one that puts a smile on your face every time
so I went to the Lexus dealership today and saw the IS in person, it was the most beautiful car I've ever seen in person. It's actually the perfect size for me even at my height adjustments in the front seat for the people on the backseats to be comfortable. The GS is a very nice car, but the IS is so much more sporty, and that's what made me choose it. Also I just found out the backseats fold-down which is a good thing for me. Thanks for the advice anyways guys!! maybe I'll buy GS in my 20s haha. oh lol and i took some pictures, The dealership I stopped at was Lexus of Bridgewater
Congrats! She's a beauty. I believe you made the right choice and it seems like you're very excited with the car.
Btw, I absolutely love your signature! Crazy how many Lexus vehicles your family owns. Lexus should go out of their to give some type of crazy discounts for that kind of loyalty.
