Hmm, that's a bummer. When I bought my GX, the previous (one) owner had kept not only the two regular fob keys and the valet key, but they also had the "stealth wallet key". I carry that one in case I ever figure out a way to lock my keys in the truck. I don't know the exact pricing of new fob keys, but I know that they are pretty expensive. I'd definately negotiate for the seller to provide, at least, 2 properly coded fob keys for you, OEM. It'll also be to your benefit when it comes time to sell it. My two cents. Good Luck!

Sewell will sell and cut you a key for $186 bucks but you have to program it or have your dealer program it. You can find them cheaper online and have a local place cut it for you.

I lost my BMW key a few years back and I couldn't find the spare either. My local BMW dealer had to special order a master key from Germany and it was over $300....for a dam* key!!

yeah, I priced it out at Sewell's. How difficult is it to program a key? I think they are going to get me one FOB, but I'm still *****ing. I do want this rig.

Several members have programmed keys with techstream:

Picked the Rig up today and have enjoyed tinkering with it most of day. Took it to dinner tonight and when I came out, noticed the driver side light didn't blink when unlocked the doors. this is the DRL and turn signal. Had the 1156 bulbs in my stash and replaced it in 5 minutes. Easy access to the bulbs once the plastic cover is lifted.

I recently found out that reprogramming keys is possible using the Techstream software. This is available online through Toyota or if you're like me, you can find it or a reasonable facsimile of it from other sources such as Amazon or Ebay. I purchased a USB to truck adapter which came with a disk containing the software for $30-40 cdn.

Ok, so I haven't done any keys of my own yet but I'm sure there are a few members who have.

Is this the 3 button master remote key? Your website just states it's a "transmitter GX470".

Congrats.

The DRL's have history of interminently not working - usually connection related. One of my DRL's goes out periodically, but if I grab the harness/socket it usually pops back on.

I plan to do just that. I need to program some keys too. I have 3 Lexus in the stable now.

Turning them off has nothing to do w/ the plug having a loose contact. You turn them off, fine, but you still won't have use of your blinker when the harness becomes loose again.

I agree, I think they are burning out from being on all the time. when they are used as a turn signal, the bulbs will last forever.
