That's sketchy. Are these what broke for everyone else?

i recently installed my RCAs this weekend and upgraded the 8.8 grade hex bolts to 12.9 grade 10mm allen head bolts to match the rest of the hardware, and to also minimize the risk of any failures. i will post my experience of it all soon.
Everyone having trouble with the RCAs should read this thread.

There's a lot of stress on those bolts especially when they're offset and cambered. Although a high grade bolt like a 12.9 is strong, it is brittle as well. OEM suspension uses grade 8.8 or 10.9 because it is relatively flexible but strong at the same time.

I would only torque it maybe 10 ft/lbs past the stock torque spec max. They are just like your wheel studs. Too much torque and they will snap. Use some medium thread lock and retorque after 50 miles or so. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

good info here. i have to start my other thread to get a good collection of this stuff. i torqued them to 83ft-lbs for now which i believe is factory specs for a UCf10 (taken from lexls). is it the same for a UCF20?

i got my 12.9 bolts at a place called mcfadden dale industrial hardware supply store. they have a two locations in the greater socal area which i frequent. both carry different products so don't assume if one does have your part, the other will also. i got my 12x50mm 1.25 pitch 12.9 grade hex bolts for i believe under $2 each! i also get my air fittings, tank pressure gauges, and air lines if i need them in a pinch there. a bit pricy but hey they have it, all DOT approved parts!

My $1000 91 LS with 130k original miles, just put some Megan EZs on it. Wheels are old school 16x8/9 Volk CV-Pros I picked up for $180 with tires:

Just got her back from paint. her hood was seriously faded and the two tone look is just awful IMO. So had them repaint the whole front end, lower half and my rear bumper as it too was in bad shape.

How much did they charge you for the repaint?
