This thread should go under the suspension sub-forum but I'm not getting any feedback whatsoever in there. I've just mounted four new wheels/tires on my ride and need to know whether or not lowering is an option and if so, what suspension/drop I should be going for. Here's the specs:
BBSLM wheels 18" all around. Front - 8 wide with 50 offset. rear - 9.5 wide with 55 offset. Tires front - 225/35/18 tires rear - 255/35/18. Has anybody dropped a staggered set up? Has anybody dealt with measurements like this before dropping? If nobody knows, then does anybody know whether or not a tuner shop would be able to answer this question for me without going out of their (aka charging me)??

how much do you wanna drop it?
i have 8/9 +35 offsets and im dropped more than 2 inches i had to shave the rear fender, and im on stretched tires
with your offset you can lower it alot also still wont rub...front might at full turn, but rears should be fine

Your wheels:
18x8(+50mm) 51.6mm to the fenders, and 151.6mm to the front suspension upright.
18x9.5(+55mm) 65.65mm to the fenders, and 175.65mm to the rear suspension.
You should be good to go. I'd get a nice set of coilovers though, so you can put your ride height where ever you want.
These limits are the practical extremes with good alignments. You can buy more fender room with camber or rolling or pulling. In front, you can buy more room with shorter overall tire diameter (<25") The closer you get to these limits, the more likely you will need to stretch a tire to fit the fender side. Drop does not determine what size wheels fit. Put too aggressive a wheel, and one day, you WILL bend your fender when you take the wrong turn with a good bump if you exceed these limits.
Measuring in mm from the face of the hub:
Front fender limit: +65mm
Comments:
| +65 | Stretch tire and/or roll fender. Need fender liner mod. Do not exceed tire diameter of 25"
| +55 | Fender liner mod if going for a wide or tall tire. Do no exceed tire diameter of 25.2"
Front inner suspension upright limit: -155mm
Comments:
Need spacer if this number is exceeded. If close, do not use lip weights on wheels
Rear fender limit: +68mm
Rear fender limit w/ shaved lip: +75
Comments:
Need to stretch tire to a certain degree if very close to these numbers
Rear inner suspension coil lmit: >-190mm

Untested, but can probably even exceed -200mm. Watch the brake line.
Equations to figure out wheel lip placement relative to limits:
Outer lip: (Wheel Width * 25.4) / 2 - Wheel Offset
Inner lip: (Wheel Width * 25.4) / 2 + Wheel Offset
