I have only one run in my 350 bone stock and I did a 13.6@102 with nothing taken out. Next year when the track opens again I will remove some weight and buy a set of lightweight 17's this time with a sticky smaller tire to see how low in the 13's I can get without any mods.

You are so close, I think doing a lightweight 17inch wheel tire combo would do it!
Yeah i'm sure some 17's would do the trick. I just weighed my stock 18" with the tires I used for drag racing and they are a hefty 47lbs.

Look at some of the earlier ads in the more popular car mags. Import Tuner especially. They're harping about "power gains" when they won't compare it to even a standard copper plug, much less a torquemaster.

SSR Competitions that I use weigh in at 15.4 pounds for the wheel only. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S weigh in at a little over 22 pounds. MAYBE a 39 to 40 pound per wheel. That's still HUGE when it comes to rotational mass.

A nearly 30 pound loss in rotational mass for all 4 wheels would cut out several tenths to say the least.

I wanted to switch over to two piece rotors that weighed almost 2 pounds less for each of the fronts. That would also make a difference...

Not to mention that the 17 inch wheel would bring the weight in closer to the hub which will also result in more of an improvement.

Impressive.

Are you considering getting an IS-F? Just curious, because I'd be interested to see what times you or Gernby could get out of it.

I just ordered a set of TM plugs, but I must say that the "company" seems a little shady. I emailed them through their form, and a guy called me back. He said that my email address didn't work, so that's why he called. The weird thing is that he called just now (Saturday at noon) from his home, and I could hear crying kids in the background.

Anyway, he says the part number is SVFN7YR, and thy are $11 each + $7 shipping. This also seems to be the same plug they sell for other Lexus cars. Doesn't it seem a little odd that the same plug seems to be used for such different engines?

Thanks guys! I am one lucky bastard today as Gernby puts it. The weather was unbelievable for making power. The DA was -1800ft even with a 325ft elevation for the track. Video is uploading to youtube now and I'll post a new thread with more details.

You'll be amazed at what the little engine could do. Toyota is out there to sell iridium plugs. They're not out there to sell torquemaster plugs. Do a search on the torquemaster. A former member by the name of Mean Gene dropped these into a GS400 and they made a world of difference. Real dyno, real world.

As for the wheels, I'm after the unsprung weight and any rotational mass. If you don't want to do it with tires, go for two piece brake rotors that are lighter. The less that you are spinning, the faster the car will get up to speed.

It's a physics thing. And it makes MUCH more of a difference than "static" weight, such as pulling the seats.

That's why my GS 400 is beating out multiple STi cars (NOT WRX....they're too slow) from a few mods with no supercharger.

At the very least, drop in the plugs. You'll get your tenths there, down to the 12s that you're looking for.
