Non Mark Levison nav screen used to play dvd's
Hey istundra,
Great job man on the install. Quick question about using Nav-TV.
If you use the NAV-TV mod like you did, can you play DVD's while moving or would you have to do the seperate "NAV Hack" so you can input adressess, watch movies, etc. while moving?
Thanks man

When you install the NavTV unit only, will work similar to the OEM ML Units, but only allowing Audio/Video inputs.
If you want to play while moving, You will need to complete the Nav Hack just like the OEM systems, otherwise, the car must be parked with Ebrake depressed.

I recommend to follow the Nav Hack schematic from this site and the install from the NavTV install manual.
So just so I have this straight. For a 2007 IS350 w/nav (no ML), let's count all the switches needed to do all these hacks...please correct me if I'm wrong, and advise if there is a way to minimize them.
Switch 1: Nav Hack (1) to enable DVD, phonebook, and MP3 folders while driving. [switch toggles hack on/off; too my knowledge there is no time out]
Switch 2: Nav Hack (2) to enable destination entry while on the move. [switch toggles hack mode "on" which creates jumpy nav, destinated entered, then driver switches "off" to go back to smooth/normal mode; locks out after 1 or 2 minutes when switched on, but can be reset in a few seconds]
Switch 3: Enable DVD on non-ML's. [switch allows usable aux port when not in DVD mode; no timeout/lockout problem noted for hack]
Do I have this correct? Is there space for all these switches?

Well technically all you need is two switches.
Switch 1: Will control two sub switches via Relay
-Relay 1: Nav Hack (1) to enable DVD, phonebook, and MP3 folders while driving. [switch toggles hack on/off; too my knowledge there is no time out]
-Relay 2: Enable DVD on non-ML's. [switch allows usable aux port when not in DVD mode; no timeout/lockout problem noted for hack]
