DIY: take apart the rear side panel

this seems to be a bit more complicated than i though

The first shows the 4 screws behind the rear backrest. The second is the bolt located behind the seatbelt. The third has a bolt and a push in rivet located at the roof pivot point. The fourth is the plastic push pins located along the door opening pillar.

Thanks man. I was expecting pics of how to remove the seat, seatback, headrests, etc.
Then, how the heck do you remove those 'pull pins'? Don't tell me they're like the ones US manufacturers use, which only fit tight the first time. You need to jank those out with a special prying tool, right? Can't see them on that pic; a close up would be fine to know what we're dealing with.
A stupid question: What the heck is causing the rattle? No mention of that, when it's the sole purpose of the project, no?
And yes, it looks a lot more complicated than the rattle is worth IMHO. Will leave it well alone for now. Wouldn't want the dealer messing up my car either, so if I ever get tired of it, I'd certainly tackle the job myself.

dunno, but to me the rattle is way too annoying to forget about, gotta get them fixed soon.

I thought I had photos showing the headrests coming off. I'd be glad to email them to Henry. The head rests have 4 bolts per side holding them on. 2 for holding the wind guard and 2 holding the leather fronts to the hoops. There is a single bolt on each hoop holding the upper backrests and 2 bolts holding the lower section. I'd start here first. Survey the situation and see if you would like to continue further.

Is it possible to update or refresh this post? I have spent an hour or two searching for pics to disassemle the rear panels and this might be the only one that i can use but all links have gone.

This part is really a no brainer for the quarter panel itself. Five, 10mm screws and one plastic plug. Set your top to its middle opened position.
Pull the back seat. One note of caution. When removing the rear seat headrests back cover, pull from the bottom. Otherwise you will break the locking tabs at the top. Don't ask. LOL. Remove the two headrest nuts and pull the headrest.
Remove the four nuts holding in the back of the rear seat. 12mm I think.
Pop off the plastic piece where the seatbelt comes through exposing one hidden screw.
Pull the bottom kick plate up, remove the three screws in the yellow inserts, remove the screw where the seat belt passes through and then get the last one at the top rear you can't see with the top down as well as the black plastic plug next to it.
Then just pull the panel out of the way to expose your speaker. If there's actually four screws in yellow inserts, or the 12mm is actually a couple of 14mm, try not to think too badly of me. LOL.

Both. Having the top open makes it easier to work in the rear seat area. Having the top closed makes easier to access the backside of the sub woofer. So I prefer all the way open or all the close. I only stop in the middle when I lube the weather seals.
