CarPlay
Replying to a text. Telling the car to search for a specific POI, just as a couple of examples. Typically Siri has zero errors. You can do those things with a **** but it’s really tedious.
maybe in your old audi
but new cars typically have fast and useful voice recognition. in both my hyundai and lexus i just hit the button, say "call xxxx" and it does. way easier than any other method. i also say "navigate to <business or address>" and it works flawlessly. i use both the car's voice control and android auto voice control. in my hyundai, if you tap the voice button it uses the car's vc and if you press a bit longer, it uses android auto.

I would always rather just pick up the phone and type in what I want vs suffering through using VC. Saying to one of the new systems to drive to an address is a massive pain since they ALWAYS screw up one of the numbers or street name. I don't drive to places that I can just say the name of the Business to the VC system since 90% of the time they are in a industrial lot or not a name that google can find easily. If I'm going somewhere that is a chain or normal I don't need GPS since I've lived here for my whole life.
Trips are different and I use a human for that, they also perform spotting duty and read ahead.
I have never had reason to do a POI search, I usually have all stops picked out before I go anywhere and if it's a random stop it's just whatever sign looks like it's good.
I would never try and use the MMI system for anything like this! Totally useless, the screen only ever comes up when I'm adjusting drive modes or commanding the car to check oil or things like that.
Until the car system is as fast and accurate as my phone I won't use it. They are getting closer but they aren't there quite yet
Voice controls get better as you use them, just out of the box they never work as well as they will after a month or so. Picking up the phone and texting is a no go for me when I’m driving. I’m trying to stay alive.
And I don’t use the cars native VC, I use Siri.

Maybe that's why I hate it, I only ever have a car overnight so that's probably why
Neither did I. And somehow I still knew that Kelly Clarkson had nothing to do with a car video with a title "Top Gear..."
You're adorable... but I'm just not that into you.
