Actually I think USA / North America get 50 with numbered badges.. (new for 2022)
We have seen a few more in other Global Markets not numbered / badged.
This one was sold recently @ Longo Lexus in So Cal.

They dangled Structural Blue in front of me, knowing I couldn’t get it. Now we have Heat Blue Satin, another freakishly amazing ‘blue’ I can’t get my grubby hands on.
Why Lexus, why? 🤬🙄😜
If it makes you feel better, they built my white on white IS 500, told me they canceled my order and then shipped it to Miami...why Lexus, why?!? Lol

When you mention first launch, i assume you dont mean the launch Edition in which only 500 were made and came in the exclusive color called Incognito. I have seen a a couple of caviar IS 500 posted here but havent seen a lot...best of luck but just that so far, we havent seen any custom orders accepted by Lexus, all cars available have been built by Lexus in various color combo and allocated randomly across the country.
To be honest, and this is just my opinion, Heat Blue Satin photographs better than it looks in person. When I saw #24 in person I was very underwhelmed. It looked unfinished and it will for sure be a major pain in the butt to keep the paint looking new
I’m intrigued as well. So is it an actual paint finish or just a wrap?
welcome to the forum! As you will see, if you read this forum, that the dealer pricing varies a lot from region to region and while some were able to get at msrp, some had to shop around to avoid paying market adjustments. The IS 500 is hard to get in some region, especially in some color.combo so you will need to call and shop around online.

It’s a paint finish. Joe will probably correct me, but my understanding of how a satin paint finish works is that it’s basically a base coat with no clear coat. And the omission of a clear coat is what makes it a pain in the butt. When you get a scratch, you polish the clear coat to make it smooth. You don’t have that on this car. So scratches, bird droppings, tree sap, etc are major issues with a paint in this finish. Personally I’m not a fan of PPF because I like to keep my cars long term and over time, even the best ppf will begin to show its age, but if I owned one of these cars I would most likely do Xpel Stealth to keep it protected while keeping the Matte finish of the paint
Thanks for the welcome. I am not partial to any color, only price, lol. As I mentioned only plan on keeping the car until my Black Wing is built. As much as I detest taking care of a black car would make an exception for the IS500 because of the limited time I would own it. Only models that interest me are the base car or one with the premium package.

Thanks. My understanding is that USB is a 4 step paint. First is a base silver coat, then 2 layers of blue, then clear coat. If heat blue satin is just the first 3 coats then that’s really disappointing. If it’s something more however then color me impressed. See what I did there?

Paint Code: 8Z1 = Electric Surge , Heat Blue Satin , Quantum Blue Satin

Lexus did the same thing with the prior year Track Editions offering them in “Arctic Blast Satin” in MY21 and “Matte Nebula Gray” in MY20..
The Matte Nebula Gray version also found on the RC F / GS F 10th Anniversary Editions, requires a VERY special handling paint care process…

Did they require you to get new lug bolts or the OEM one fitted? (most aftermarket wheels require "tuner style" lug nuts so I guess it's the same for lug bolts?)
