Recently it was pretty warm here and the car took it like a champ!
115°F whereby the blacktop was 170°F.
If idling for even a minute my Hot Air Intake showed 160° (MAF).
The engine maintained 195 while the trans on the highway was showing 215°.
After sitting in the shade it showed 111°. Notice its after 7. It was freaking HOT outside!
Last year I drove her in a heatwave to SoCal, the temp was between 109F and 112F. I was on Hwy 5 going through the Central Valley averaging 80 mph for a sustained 6 to 7 hours. No issues at all, even when I hit Southern Cal stop and go traffic. Ambient Temp was around 105F by that time. All my Toyotas have handled heat like a champ. The highest heat I've driven through was with my 2006 Camry @ 115F. My 2018 Civic Si didn't like heat very well, it would sometimes heat soak, which is common with forced induction engines.

Thought I would share some pics of a project car I'm about to buy: 2001 Lexus IS300. It has the 3.0L Inline 6, 5 speed auto and about 220K on it. Engine is in good condition, but I may rebuild or replace it with a lower mileage JDM engine. It has an electrical short and needs a new fuse box and wire harness, so the battery has to be charged with a charger. CAT also needs to be replaced. Body is not too bad, and interior is in relatively decent condition. My plans are:
Rebuild or replace the engine Swap out the auto trans for a 5 speed manual replace the CATS and maybe a new exhaust New suspension, bushings and sway bars Bodywork/paint Forced induction may be in its future
Not bad for $1500! I'm probably going to do this over 3 years. Here is some pics of it:

Looks like she needs a lot of love and a couple of transplants to really shine again!

Good luck!
The current owner is a 19 year old kid who has some skill as an amertuer mechanic and likes to mess around, thankfully he hasn't done much to the car. It's going to definitely need some bodywork and paint. No major accidents and a clean title, doesn't wobble or make excessive noise when driving, although CAT is bad so exhaust doesn't sound that great. My mechanic is going to let me park it at his shop for now, I'm going to have him do the electrical work because...I don't want to mess with electrical stuff! I might ask his help with engine and trans, as I don't have the proper tools or hoist for that type of work. Everything else I'm going to try and do myself when I have some free time
Okay people, I need some help finding a part number. I'm looking for the PN for the front grille emblem for an 2011 - 2013 F-sport. The objective here is to find a compatible black emblem for the front grill. The issue is not being able to compare the part numbers. In short, most listings on ebay say they fit but they don't until you find an F-Sport one as best I can tell. @FSportBill I know I asked before, any input?
Front emblem size is roughly 123 x 95 mm.
EDIT <start>
Supposedly all emblems are the same size. the difference is those with pins/nuts and those without pins and nuts.
Can anyone confirm?
EDIT <end>
These are F-Sport only.

A lot is happening in life these days. That said, another Yoda enters the family.
A 2010 Tundra w 100k miles. It's the baby 4.6 vs 5.7 V8 but shares the 350's A760(H) trans. All (ALL) the fluids need changed. That will come after next month...
Oh - Chippy is paid in full!

I love those Tundras, congrats! The 4.6L is a solid engine, will easily give you another 200k. It's a great edition 🙂

Thanks! I've been looking for a year now but usually at Tacos and this came along. It's got some wear and tear and will never shine like the 350 as it has so many dings and just one dent.
Based on the volume of dead Tundra threads/forums, it may get documented here at some level..
Front and rear diff's / synthetic gear oil
Transfer case / synthetic gear oil
Trans forever fluid / Amsoil Synthetic
Coolant Toyo Long Life pink stuff
Brake juice
PS fluid / not electric!
And then there is detailing... When to stop is the question.

It looks really good from the pics. Unless you are only showing us his best side (yes, pickups are "He")
A before and after engine bay clean up. Simple green, a paint brush and a garden hose.
Looks great! I just changed all the suspension, bushings, engine mount, bearings, belts etc on my daughter's 2006 Camry SE, and the engine bay was also cleaned. I unfortunately don't have a before pic, but it was covered in soot and grime, worse than your truck. You could barely see the Toyota logo. Here's a pic after cleaning:
