I think they are referring to a tool more like TechStream but if an OBDII code reader connects and is working then the OBDII port connector is most likely OK.

Checked the cruise control today. Works perfect. Wonder why there was a fault code. Seems like i have to go to the dealer for diagnostics

Got a phone call from the Lexus dealer today. It is the Sliding roof control computer unit that is dead. First they did not find anything but fortunately the sales manager had a SC430 and they switched unit between the cars and the roof worked.
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...720-24010.html
A new one costs about $ 1400 in Sweden but i have seen used ones at Ebay for just $ 40 - 80.
The world looks a little bit brighter today
Anyone knows where this unit is located in the car and if its easy to replace?
Thanks

You have to lift up the trunk panels to gain access to it. If the dealer tried the other unit they also had to pull the trunk panels what did they charge you for the diagnosis

I guess they had to pull the trunk panels on your car as well as the other car to pull the roof ecu out to test on yours.
The panels should take a novice 45 min at most and experience person 20 min the ecu is unbolt and re-bolt in the replacement
its not difficult at all. The 1400.00 you mentioned would that include the 350.00 you had to pay or was it separate payment

The 1400 is just for the new control unit. Add cost for installation...
