About 12:30 a.m., the couple's joyride came to an abrupt end when a police officer noticed the Ferrari's taillights were out and pulled the vehicle over.
Only a 2014 model and the lights were out?! Italian electronics!
Don't feel bad for the owner at all, anyone that valets their expensive car gets what they deserve.
LOL, or they have enough money they don't care if the valet totals it.... but I agree 100% - never let a valet drive my 06 Vette but I would tip the valet to let me park it myself up right up front.
Except according to the article, they didn't have as much fun as the Ferris valets.
Police soon pulled them over as they prepared to get on a freeway ramp because the taillights weren't working. Police also said the driver appeared to be having "difficulty" driving the car.
According to the Times, Rimmer "admitted it was odd that Miles didn't seem to know how to 'drive' the car, but he did manage to 'move it.' But she didn't think much of it."
"I was trying to impress the girl I just met at the Vinoy," Miles told police.
Police found cocaine on the car's center console and a gram of marijuana in Rimmer's purse. Miles was charged with grand theft, possession of cocaine and habitually driving with a suspended or revoked license.
There's the real problem. If this guy had been busted several times for driving without a valid license, then he clearly had not learned his lesson. He should have been in a prison cell, not out on the street where he could steal cars. Too many judges fall for the line from defense-attorneys that "Your Honor, my client has really learned his lesson the time. He (or she) won't repeat it".....and don't have the will to do what needs to be done and lock these people up.

So, you drop your expensive car off at the dealership for service and the car jockeys decide to take the car for a joyride and curb rashes your shiny rims you deserve it? I like your line of logic there ...
I've worked on and off valet parking cars, and you wouldn't believe some of the **** I've seen. Guy working that night was obviously an idiot on a whole new level, but I have seen people drive off with the wrong rental car before, because the idiot valet just gave them the keys to the white rental Impala and didn't check the name or the guest's claim check. You know we have 4 of those white rental Impalas in the garage right now . . . . .
