I have to ask, but what about the car seems "beat up?" Maybe there something I'm not seeing. Regardless, that is a lot of car for less then the price of the new Camry

 

Depends on variables like location, condition, trim level, mileage, model year etc.

In my city, RCFs have been holding value well. Some of it is because they are rare, only available in two loaded trim levels (one with performance package with 20 spokes and one without with 10 split spoke wheels) and that RCFs (and other RWD sports cars) are driven 7 months of the year. When I was shopping, I could buy a used M4/M3 for slightly cheaper.

Why is everyone so surprised with the price? Its 4 year old model car retaining 50% value. Depreciation will stabilize in the high 20s low 30s in the next year or two

 

Car was in an accident. 4 year depreciation for good build quality car is typically 60 - 65% of its original value (at least, where I live) in blue book terms.

 

This topic of conversation irks me...if you leased this particular car for the past three years at roughly $1,000/month when they first came out you would’ve invested $36K into a $72K car (half its value) only to give it back. Why aren’t those people complaining on here?

If you were so worried about depreciation you should’ve bought a Subaru or Honda.

Bottom line, you loved the styling and what it offered in performance. Now of course there are faster cars out there but right now I still haven’t found anything that looks as sexy for the money and is as low maintenance (I just change the “conventional” oil). Drive it, enjoy it, and just listen to others complain about the cost of ownership for their other high end vehicles (BMWho?).

 

I think a lot of the folks who leased cars do so because it's a business deduction and at the end of the lease, they just turn the car in without the headaches of having to dispose of the car. They just go get another new car, leased again (compliments of our friendly uncle Trump!!!)

 

Seems like a good price and most important of all it has a clean Carfax.

We all know how unreliable Carfaxes are but the truth is a clean Carfax is all that matters in a future sale. Besides, if you wanted a perfect car you'd buy new. If it passes a PPI and you like the color I say go for it.

 

 

Hard to imagine it'd pop up now if it hasn't yet.
