Default 2015 IS HID bulb change

I have searched everywhere and did not find anything related to how to change HID bulb in the 3IS.

I have a IS350 2015 canadian version which has HID headlamp. I would like to change it to a cooler temperature,

Is there a how-to on changing the bulb?

Thanks!

Have opened the hood, pulled the panels and looked for the HID cover?
There is a cover for the HID bulb. If it offers easy access, open it and look.

With lights off, twist the big connector off and lay it aside. Now there is a single two sided spring clip securing the bulb.

If you can get to both sides, you can swap the bulbs.

Warning - do not touch the glass and power it up. The bulb will be damaged. So if you think you touched it on accident, wipe it with lint free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

Do this with new bulbs too. Just go look and you may need to remove the air box or temporarily move the wiper washer fill tube.

Your looking for this connector - on the housing.

Hey i bought these:
Amazon Amazon
They were a lot whiter than the D4S - OSRAM XENARC that i paid $200 for.

as for changing the bulbs its pretty easy. It's different than normal because it loads the bulbs in side ways.

going to each head light from behind, you will see a square metal box... it is attached to the cover of the head light.
disconnect and turn counter clockwise, easiest when you grip the tabs.
once counter clockwise you should be able to pull it off
disconnect the wire to the bulb, its a press fit and should just pull of
there's a latch holding down the bulb

Thank you both for the guidance.

Should I disconnect the battery first?

No need to. Just make sure lights are off.

Proper practice says to disconnect the battery anytime you're working on anything electrical, but like previous post said manually switch your lights to off. You should be fine, for quick bulb change.

On the 2IS chassis the airbox needs pulled. A screw driver, pick, and 10mm socket and extension are needed.
You have to disconnect the MAF, but still no need to disconnect the battery as long as you don't start it.

It is easy to do. Open the airbox an you got plenty of space. On the right side just pull on the washer fluid intake (don’t know how it called in english)
its a 20min job.
I bought Australien HID from Konig with 6700K ( very hard to get in Germany non street legal stuff..)

Any D4S bulb work. And yes that’s 35w I believe. Don’t go more than 6700k. The daylight running lights should be around 5000k. It looks a little strange in the night— headlights blueish and the daylights pure white. I hope you understand what I wanna try to tell you

Edit– I will take a picture for better understanding and post it tomorrow

Don't forget as you go up in temperature, generally you go down in lumens (output), sacrificing safety. There are a small SMALL handful of bulbs that go up in temp and stay same or go up in output. One of those is CBIs--and even then it stops at around 5000k.

But mostly 99% of people who are going "6000k" or "8000k" are getting the chinese copy ones--which are poor for a multitude of reasons.

Optimum color temp for performance is 4-5000k

Get this: the standard of bulbs
