Default Boost logic Supercharger..yet?

Well I just remembered reading on the forums about Boost logic based in Austin was going to make a Supercharger for the LC 500 and it would retro fit the RCF...I guess they never pursued it? Anyone know?

My guess: it's a centrifugal supercharger like ATI ProCharger, Paxton, Rotrex, or Vortech (not a positive displacement) located ahead of the front drive and offset to one side, driven off the existing accessory belt system, and supplying air to the stock manifold.
The actual supercharger is almost certainly an available commercial product (BL doesn't make it). It's the brackets and ducts that must be designed to fit the engine bay, other accessories, etc.
This type of drive has been approached here at CL, do a search, it's a huge amount of work. Although the actual parts will be quite different between V8 and V6, the engineering will be very similar: both will retain as much of the original intake path as possible. An L6 or L4 system will typically be located alongside or above the engine, which isn't practical for a "V" engine due to the lack of space in the compartment.
I've written some remarks about supercharger operation in general which may be of interest on my site here: http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/blower/blower.htm
Thanks for the link to your site. Excellent stuff!!

That was a great read! I have the honor of having the first TRD Supercharger installed in 1998 when they came out for the Landcruiser...so I have always been a fan of supercharging. I actually called Boost logic several months ago and they said they would have one at SEMA this year.....so I guess not. I am curious why they would want to design one for the LC 500 which I would think it even a MORE limited model than the RC F in sales...but what do i know...

May best guess...Is cracking that ECM...Just like other companies out there...Stated this same shortcomings...Plus, most people aren't willing to spend money on replacing the OEM ECM system for an better tunable ECM system like MoTec for an example...

I’m strictly referring to the LC500...RR Racing stated themselfs...If you don’t see a S/C from them for the LC500...Then, haven’t figured out a way to crack that ECM...Hence, independent ECM Systems are the ONLY option besides doing nothing...

hi all,

The minute the lc500 ECU is acessable for programming we will supercharge it. We have had several lc500 owners offer to send us their cars, but without being able to tune the ECU it’s not the right way to do it.

We certainly do have a kit, with over a year of development and testing, not to mention lots of track time and 10’s of thousands of miles in customer cars without any engine/tranny failures:

Honestly I wouldn't even bother with a supercharger for a LC. Weighs more than the RC F. The RC F with a supercharger doesn't seem fast at all for all the horsepower gained. Trap speed in the quarter and the RC F that ran at a half mile event weren't impressive. I was expecting higher traps with 560~at the wheel. For example, the new 2018 Mustang GT rated at 460 hp/420 lb-ft of torque put down 12 flat @ 117 mph. There's videos supercharged RC Fs barely running faster than that.

The 1/2 trap you saw was 142mph at an event @ 4000ft elevation. Sea level vs 4000ft is a big difference. You can see in the videos where RCF500 is easily pulling away from some very fast cars.

that said, we don’t take these cars to the drag strip, I personally think it’s pointless. You live for 1/4 mike, go and buy a Tesla

The bottom line is on a highway pull or at a real track (road racing) a supercharged RCF will blow away an NA RCF.

well I clearly missed that the half mile was done at 4000ft lol. What trap speed would you expect much closer to sea level? Lets say around 900-1000ft above sea level. Any plans for a more aggressive setup? 650whp w/E85?
