a little update. My engine bay is empty. It is being degreased and going in for paint. Will be color matched to the car. Engine is being built on the stand. Coming together. Mocked up the turbo to ensure it’ll fit. Some tweaks need to be made.

Will be following along as you do your wire tuck, something I'd love to tackle at some point!

Got it pushed next door to the body shop and started disassembly. Hoping to have it painted by the end of next week. Also got the holes drilled for the clutch master before painting. Didn’t have a chance to mock up the intercooler beforehand do drilling those holes will have to come after paint.

Oh yeah!!!!!

Finally some updates. Doing it the right way Jimmy! Not skipping anything, just how it should be done.

It might seem like a ton of work at the moment (and it is), but when it's all said and done you will really be glad you took the extra time to do all the small details.

This is truly a one of a kind build!

thanks Roman! Yeah, I’m not in a big hurry since winter is coming. Makes it easier to be patient. Figuring out oil lines now. Would be easier to show than explain but when using the vvti head with a nonvvti ge block, there is no way to get oil to the vvti. So I’m tackling that now. Small hurdles i need to overcome.

fadi, we use a machine shop in Highwood to do all of our head inspections and flywheel resurfacing. They did an AMAZING job. Dennis is the man there!

T-fitting on the oil filter housing union bolt?...or have a machine shop drill&tap the provisioned area of the block (i think its casted shut for the non-vvti blocks).

Bob's 1000WHP build in the SupraForums has a nice write-up on this.

thanks Craig!! It’s coming along. Have a few things to figure out with it being a vvti head on a non vvti block. Did some mock up today for fun. Also got engine bay scuffed for paint.
