Attending this event today. Just arrived at the resort near Victoria, BC today, will get to drive the AMG's tomorrow.

No Henry, it is not included as part of the car's purchase. I received an invitation much later .
It is free, but to me, it is part of their promotion of their AMG Driving Academy courses which you have to pay to attend. They have instructors who guide us to drive the AMG cars on the track and autocross to give you a taste/preview of what their driving courses are like.

haha reminds me of Porsche, totally free. Oh if you insist, I'll take this 997 GTS around for another lap...now I thought they had the lead/follow backwards, where the least capable cars were behind the instructor (Cayman S), and the most were in the back. I wanted to pass the other 3 drivers when I was in GTS, but they said you do that and we shut the entire day down and you can explain to the others why...

Isn't it refreshing to see the German car cos. still care about this stuff, while others are figuring out how to charge up their cars and have the cars drive themselves as much as possible? Looks like a fun time.

(now when I followed the link from an old email, it had a Porsche webpage stating this program is no longer active, c'mon, bring it back, that was only 2015!)

Yes, excellent (but rather remote) location with great views and very nice and big suites, but don’t have too high expectations on their restaurant

 

I drove my AMG and took the ferry since the weather is very nice. The weather weren’t too good when they started the event for the first couple days, but luckily it turned nice since and remained that way.

yup, pretty similar to when i got the M and they offered free M school, part of their promotion of the performance driving. i think it works out pretty good!

looks like you had a blast, hope you were able to learn more about the limits of these machines!!
