3. take off the cap to the casing by turning it counter clock wise..some oil will come out so have a pan underneath the opening.
once removed, this is what comes out of it...

4. remove the old filter and o ring and clean inside the cap and the oil filter casing. put the new o ring in place, careful not to damage it...put the new filter in place, dont be scared if you wiggle it, it has some spring action to it.
5. screw the oil filter and cap back on clock wise, hand tight so you can remove it later.
6. put the little panel back on.
7. look further back towrds the passenger side and you will see the oil pan.
8. unscrew the oil drain bolt counter clockwise. oil will come out so have an oil pan and be ready.
9. drain the oil and reinsert the drain bolt with the new washer. clean around the area if needed.
10. add oil.
hope these pictures help, have fun...

has uploaded a LOADING.KWI file < http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=255527 >
needed to make a hybrid version 5.1/6.1 NAV disk. Turns out that his file works only with the NAV-U30/U31 DVDs (installed in the Lexus RX, etc.). The files, including LOADING.KWI, are different in the NAV-U20/U21 DVDs installed in the Lexus ES, etc. Would anyone be kind enough to post the LOADING.KWI file from the U20 NAV DVD? My Lexus dealer discarded my version 5.1 DVD when they upgraded me to 6.1, and now says that it can't even be ordered. A simple, free procedure for uploading is described at http://www.yourfilelink.com/ .
The 430 oil change was a piece of cake. The V8 motor uses a standard type filter. It's easy to get to once the bottom cover is removed.
Filter = $7.79 (dealer)
Mobil 1 syc 5w30 = 5qts for $23.99 + 1 qt for $2.89 (walmart)
total = @$36.00
I tried burning a dvd with the 5.1 loading.kwi file and 6.1 data. I tried multiple times to get the nav system to recognize the dvd and load but to no avail. I kept getting the "insert the correct DVD" message. Well, I got pissed and tried a few different things. I put the original 5.1 dvd in and it loaded the software. I ejected the dvd and inserted the hybrid dvd and it recognized it then. I now have the 5.1 kwi file and the 6.1 data files. For all of those who have tried the hack and failed, give it another shot. I can hit the map dvd button and it shows the 6.1 data file.
Just another way around for those of you who have tried and just couldn't quite get it.
GOOD LUCK!

I kept getting the "load correct disk error" message. I loaded the original Lexus 5.1 dvd so that it loaded the software then ejected it and inserted the hybrid disk I had burned. It pulled up the 6.1 maps that I was shooting for plus kept the 5.1 software. I could not get the system to load the software from the hybrid disk though.

I used a different PC and it worked! So it's picky about burner... try a different burner/PC
