Some people are unbelievable, I had the car parked in a parking lot, and somebody did this while backing out. I asked if the owners had security cameras, and they didn't, so no way to find out who it...

Thanks for all the input - just to clear up any confusion I am NOT trying to "improve" handling or make it stiffer or anything like that by replacing the springs, my goal would be to have new springs...

Springs. Constant or variable rate?

So for those who looked at my previous thread, it seems like I will have to actually build up the front struts from new parts since Monroe doesn't make front quick struts. I could do quick struts in...

No available front quick-struts for a 92 ES?

So I've finally decided to have the suspension on my Lexus re-done, it's on the original one right now which is totally gone (and has been for years), after 160,000 miles and 23 years. I found a shop...

-Change air filter...

Engine and transmission mounts would be my first guess. When is the last time the transmission fluid was changed? How about the filter?

Also, I read on the SC forum once that somebody had this...

If you see the rpm's going up and down a bit at idle, I would try replacing the fuel filter. They're pretty cheap and it can't hurt to have a new one on there anyway. Also maybe cleaning the throttle...

From the photos it looks good, and $3000 isn't a bad price if everything is in good shape. It's good that the timing belt was done, this way you don't have to worry about it for another 60,000 miles....

Welcome to Club Lexus!

As far as the transmission clunking goes, I would check the engine and transmission mounts - if you have an extended warranty then hopefully it'll be covered, but even if...

Just hit 160,000 miles this past weekend, original paint, headlights, and all that. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm-ish out so it'll get an oil change and hopefully a wash and wax :)

I've been a member of this great forum for a while, and I was following the posts even before I became a member, and it seems like there are constantly less and less of us with the second generation...

So about a month ago I changed my coolant along with upper and lower hoses. Upper hose is AC Delco and lower hose is Goodyear (seems to be better quality than the AC Delco one).

Every once in a...

If you're getting only 280 miles out of a tank then either you're doing mostly city driving or the engine might be running too rich for some reason. Bad o2 sensors, possibly? I'm assuming these newer...
