Hard to tell but it could be one of the brake dust shields rusting out, loosening, and touching the disk. If that's the case, either bend it back. Or remove it.

Yes. Accelerate in reverse. If symptoms are there, than it's not a hose. If no symptom than probably it is a cracked hose. But again, best to remove them and examine them very carefuuly

I'm not clear what you're doing, but if you unlock the doors and don't phisically open a door within 30 Seconds or so, they will re-lock automatically. This is normal.

As I said already, I'm not concerned about her timing belt breaking, I do recommend however that she join AAA road side service. It's always good to have. Even for such simple things as a flat tire.

Double check your work carefully. PCV valve and hose connected back? Is the PCV grommet intact?
