My guess would be ambient noise. Since I have a cat-back, there’s quite a ruckus in the cabin with the windows down and that’s when I hear the volume increase the most.

Trust me, I was lost too lol. But yes, I drilled a hole in the bottom of the exhaust pipe to the rear of the muffler and inserted the screw through it. You can see in the pic uploaded.
