Looks to me like the Solenoid contacts were so worn down instead of sending juice to the starter it created a dead short.

Look at pump see if it is leaking at the shaft chanes are pretty...

the other problem sounds like servo is bad not allowing air to flow where it should.

Better to learn how to do this then to take it to someone.
