Yes, they just "pull off". However, most people, myself included, had to use a mallet/hammer to remove them. Use a plastic or rubber mallet.

Only thing I can think of are better OEM water pumps. The early years, mine included, had water pumps that leaked quite early in their life. Mine started at 21k miles. :(

Give it time. That code should go away on its own since you've replaced the bad O2 sensor. It might just take a couple of days or a few heat cycles.

Honestly, the 2IS is a solid used car no matter the model year; just as long as you go with an IS350. If going with an IS250, you might encounter carbon build-up issues.

The ONLY way to tell if your rotors are being over-tasked with excessive heat, is by getting the temp of the rotor surface using an infrared heat gun. Let us know what the temps are and I can compare...

I'm foreseeing a purchase having to be made through Lexus on that rod. These motors just don't see much rebuild action (yet), thus not alot of loose parts floating around out there.
