it's located in the valley, well the both are (there's two), and if one's failed it might be best to do both.

it can also be a wiring issue, so it might pay to unplug the loom and re-connect it....

Do you know what you're looking for in the parts, say if they are worn or not ? because it's generally best to replace parts that are actually worn rather than throwing (cheap)...

I second that it will be fine. Reare brakes does about 10-15% of the actual braking work anyway, it's all on the front really. The rear brakes just stablize the car in braking. I doubt any air got in...
