Realistically, be prepared regardless of how well the car checks out to spend a few thou in the near future. Although reliable these are not inexpensive cars to maintain.

Its best to get the car up on a lift and listen to each hub while spinning with and without a stethoscope. That should certainly eliminate one way or the other a wheel bearing.
