Default CD Storage

This kind of falls under the heading I'm A Moron, Are You?

Just realized there is a back section to our storage console which accepts CD's (if placed upright) and the door clears them. I believe it accepts 6 jewel cases. I know, I know. You guys probably discovered that day one, but I bet there's a couple who just side-lean-stacked them in the front part of the storage area like me. Frees up a lot of space.

Well, Roofless, this moron never even thought of storing his jewel cases there. That's where I kept my bottle of alcohol (hand cleanser). So I made a change - six jewel cases fit there quite nicely and my hand cleanser now resides in the passenger seat pouch. This leaves enough room in the main storage are for my gun. Now I gotta find a place for used Kleenex.

Thanks.

Just kidding about the gun.

Why are you kidding about the gun?? That's a perfect place for it!!! With this car you might need it to keep from getting carjacked!!! Good luck.

You have a point, Doc. There are more and more New York City scumbags finding their way upstate, increasing the crime rate in drugs, prostitution, and murder (all related). Carjacking is virtually nonexistent at this time, but I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't start as well.

However, getting a carry permit in New York State is damn near impossible - especially in my county which tends to make up its own rules that trump state law. If I'm found carrying without a special carry permit, I'm bound to lose my regular I-can-own-a-firearm permit.

That's too bad. Here in Colorado we've got guys that regularly wear holsters and revolvers every day. They go into banks and stores and everything with firearm, boots, spurs etc. all the time. We have concealed carry as well which is easy to get. I haven't gone to get my permit yet, but am planning on it soon. Take care!!

If you use the thin cases you can get 12 in there.

Things have obviously changed since I was a hippie in Colorado. You must be talking about towns like Fairplay, Gunnison, Ward, Alma, Buena Vista; certainly not Denver, Evergreen, Idaho Springs or dare I say it... South Park.

BTW, how did we get from morons to guns. Never mind, I figured it out.

Roofless,

Absolutely. I was at Buena Vista last weekend and most of the other places you listed. Walsenburg, Trinidad, Alamosa are all like that. There are still some good hippie towns too. Boulder is the hippie capital of the world.

take care,

Doc, I envy you driving those roads in your SC. I often think of buying a small place out there with a Porsche Turbo in the garage just to come out and drive those roads. (Probably cost less than a condo at a ski area.) The last time I lived in CO. and drove those roads, I had a BMW 2002tii, later a modded out BMW Bavaria. Very few towns then and no stop lights. Heaven!

Make some turns for me - on the slopes too!

Roofless,

You better hurry!!! Property values are going up up! A 911 turbo would be the perfect high altitude ride. We went over Independence Pass into Aspen last weekend in the SC. 500-1000 ft drop offs with no railings and a road only 7-8 feet wide. It was awesome.

That's what I mean. Independence Pass. Probably the best driving road in the US. I've been over that pass one way or the other more than 300 times... once in a full-size Ryder truck carrying 5000 dinner plates... challenging to say the least. You must have caught it in the last week before it closes for the winter - musta been nice in your SC.

As far as buying, it would be in more remote, less pricey areas like Cripple Creek or Westcliff staying south for the dryer roads and weather. Another area I'm looking at is Wood Lake. Ever heard of it? I found it by accident once. Very remote and great roads.

Never heard of Wood Lake. You don't want Cripple Creek. It is nothing but casinos. No grocery store or gas station or anything. Buses of gray panthers and thousands of cars clog the road in that area. From Divide to Cripple Creek is almost bumper to bumper on weekends. Yes, that Independence Pass was a great drive in the SC!!!! Especially with the new 19" Michelin Pilots and HREs. Car handles great!! Aspen is pretty but way high!!! A normal size lot (.25 acre) is going for 500-900K!!!! Holy crap!!! good luck on Wood Lake purchase!!!

Thanks for the heads up on Cripple Creek - wow, what a culture change there! Having lived in Aspen in the seventies and leaving when it started to turn into Beverly Hills East, I have no interest in buying there. They couldn't change the mountains though and I still do get back once a year for some skiing... I just avert my gaze if Keven Costner or Cher walk by. Sheesh.

Glad to hear your new shoes are suiting you well and you're showing them off to the residents of Buena Vista and the like. Is the Foster Freeze still there in "Byuna Vista" on main street? Or did they put up a casino there too?

I'm in the process of ordering a somewhat similar Iforged/Michelin shoe setup for my SC. Can't wait!

Roofless,

No casinos in "Byuna Vista" yet. Don't know about the Foster Freeze. Why do they pronounce it Byuna anyway!!!. The iforged will look awesome!! My insurance company paid for mine (or most of it) so I went the HRE route. Definitely a fan of the Iforged wheels though!! I can't believe there isn't some copyright being broken by them somehow!! Oh well, that's their problem. Have fun in Aspen. The billionaires have run the millionaires out now. Mountains are still awesome though. I saw 2 Ferrari 360 Modenas, MB SL55AMG, 2 Porsche 911 turbos, 1 Bentley, 1 Rolls there in Aspen. Definitely a car town!!!!

Back to the original topic, does anyone know what the harnesses are for that are located behind the hidden panel inside this magical cd holder compartment?
