My SC430 has a power drain as well, like most have reported.
Based on my research and diagnosis, mine is 100% drained by the audio system, which is protected by a 30A fuse (“47 RADIO NO.1 30 Audio system” in the passenger side engine compartment fuse box). I guess it’s the same for most if not all SC430s of the same generation.
Now, I’m thinking of adding a SPST switch for the amplifier. I prefer the switch to be installed in the cabin instead of the trunk or elsewhere.
Has anyone done it? Which wire to split please? Thanks!
There's a 15 Amp radio fuse that goes to the amp, but that's only ACC power so I think that is not be an issue. The 30-amp radio fuse is the main power line to the amp. There is a junction box, IL2, located for a 2002 as "Instrument Panel Wire and Floor Wire (Right Kick Panel)". The wire color is W-R (white with red stripe).

I use a AGM battery even though the charging system is slightly high on voltage for AGM’s and a temp compensated trickl charger connected to a short pigtale in the wiper well area on the passenger side. Versus alter the wiring? Turning off the power I think would lose all memory info?
a small solar panel could do the same if no power where stored.
Does that mean that there is something wrong with the amp that is causing a constant draw? Most amps have a remote turn on that is activated by the head unit.
