Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have a navtool video interface with some other setups feeding through it in my sc430.

last week when starting the car, navigation screen wouldn’t turn on. It would open and tilt and show the Lexus logo but then it would immediately go black. In the past if this happened, I’d press the “map” button, everything would work again. This time, nothing would happen when pressing the destination/map buttons (no sound would beep either). Only info/brightness button would turn the screen on but then most functions would be disabled (no navigation etc), No other button or parts of the system would work. I kept restarting the car and pressing the map button until suddenly it beeped and everything started working again. This happened twice so I know something is failing and needs repair.

would y’all think this is a issue with the navigation drive? Navtool interface? Screen itself?

Easiest thing to do is pop the NAV disk out and reinsert. Second, replace the DVD. It’s in the trunk.

 

It sounds like the screen is good since you can read the settings the screen puts out (As compared to the settings the nav settings put out)

Info/Brightness is not tied to the nav system.

 

I had a similar issue with my navigation screen when I had a VAIS Technology aux input adapter. I recommend disconnecting the Navtool and see if it solves your problem.
