Default Vacuum Hose Replacements

Hello all......looking at a few of the vacuum hoses on my 2002 sc430 they are hard as a rock...no leaks yet but....I'm sure many of us with early model sc's would like to know who has changed out these hoses and would tell us which of the hoses they changed, what size hoses they used, which hoses they had to get from Lexus and where the LOCATIONS are for the hoses that should be replaced (a picture pointing to the locations would be absolutely helpful and greatly appreciated by all)...what difficulties and short cuts were used and what to look out for...instructions and diagrams and photos would be fabulous! I have searched the forum but have not seen a well documented thread on "how to" on replacing vacuum hoses step by step....I'm sure there are many who await a response....Thanks

This is the vacuum diagram: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-c...69/engine/1708

I think probably a mix of 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and larger.

My feeling is that leak will develop if you remove them. But if left as it is, hardened hoses don't spontaneously leak.

thanks lexixel for the quick reply and the diagram is helpful...I think you may be right about leaving well enough alone...the hoses are solid and feel like metal..lol

Yes but a hardened hose will also resist the spring clamp, allowing the hose to become loose and either create a leak or come loose. A hose coming loose has happened to several of us on the forum.
