Default Anyone with an 08+ -- Headlight Question

So I spent the past day doing some lighting adjustments on the car.

- Replace D4S Bulbs (Low Beam)
- One was on it's way out so I replaced both with New D4S 6000k's
- Replaced H3 (Fog)
- Replaced the 9005 Bulbs (DRL???? and High Beam)
- Thought the yellow was coming from there, so I replaced it with some Extreme White Sylvania's
- Was going to LED but didn't want to deal with resistor/caps for flicker.
BIG QUESTION HERE IS... There's a smaller 194 sized bulb in that hole that's angled down.. that seems to be the DRL.. I assumed the DRL was the 9005 bulb and shared the DRL+HIGHBEAM Function with lower voltage for reduced visibility.
- Replaced Side Markers with White LEDS (Doesn't matter as side markers on my car are yellow) -- One was out

Am I wrong to assume this for the 08+ (I know there was a facelift in 06+) but from most posts I've searched/read, there's been no mention of this dumb little light.

Either way I replaced the 194 that angled into the housing with a white LED, and it seems my DRL light is only this one bulb, and does not share it with the 9005. High Beam works.. so I assume I have it right.

I removed the front bumper to replace all these lights, even with bumper removed the Fog Lights are a PITA.

Please see picture below - It's from an auction, my lights are in mint condition lol.. I'll take some pics when I get off my *** today.

I see they changed it from 07-10 that makes more sense, since all the ones I'm pulling up are older.

Thanks mate!

I thought the DRL were the headlights or high beams at a reduced voltage.
can you go out and check this on your car?
I would do it for you but I turned the DRL off on mine.
also, here is a list of all the light types.

I has the same question years ago but no one seemed to know the answer. Definitely, it’s not DRL since it’s only on when the headlights are on, besides I have turned off the DRL and it’s still on.
Some says it’s parking light. May be. I replaced it with white LED and still don’t know what it is.

Hahah I’m glad I’m not the only one.

you are correct the 9005 is the DRL shared with the Highbeam for my car.

I too had it disabled lol, had to put tech stream and turn it back on to verify.

I ask because the small led replacement makes a better DRL than the 9005 I replaced it with a 6000k but still god damn yellow cuz 9005s suck. So disabled it is

Might do led since I have them but only if I need to take off bumper again.

The FSM (for 2002) shows the bulb and it is labeled as a "Clearance Lamp Bulb". The Owner's manual refers to a bulb in that spot as a "Parking Light", and bulb type as 168. Obviously a change between 168 and 194. 168 bulbs are brighter than 194 if trying to use this for a DRL.

......not looking @ my car, but if I remember correctly, that is the park light bulb. I have a led in mine & it's white currently. I've changed them back & forth , from white to orange occasionally
